According to the legends, the roots of the 2CV are located somehow in agricultural business: The car should be able to carry a basket filled with eggs over a plowed field without getting one of the eggs cracked.
Fact is, that farmers were favoured when ordering a car at the beginning of the 2CV production, to enable them to carry their goods to the next market in the area.
The traktor club "Ackerkralle" is organizing a great exibition of historic tractors and agricultural machines all 2 years in my home village. At the following pictures and the video you can see what kind of machines were used by the farmers during the 20th century:
