2CV ignition
Behind the fan is the housing of the interrupter. By loosening the two screws on the left and on the right the entire housing can be turned around some degrees, whereby ignition is adjusted.

2CV ignition
On the cam shaft centrifugal force weights are fastened, which adjust ignition depending on the engine speed.

2CV ignition
I replaced this mechanical circuit breaker (right) by an electronic variant (left). With the mechanical variant a permanent current flows by ignition coil, if the contact is closed thereby. That leads to a strong heating up of the ignition coil and can destroy these (radio listening while stationary with ignition turned on)!
For the change the centrifugal force weights are replaced by small magnets, which indicate ignition electronically.

2CV ignition
Entire electronics is in place of the old circuit breaker housing. With the help of the light emitting diode at the front, ignition can be adjusted now uniquely with engine switched off.
How to adjust the original ignition is described at C-Laus-Homepage, which can be found in the column 'Links'.

2CV ignition coil
The ignition coil is fastened to the headlight carrier. In the case of use of the original ignition the positive terminal of the battery is attached here and the other contact leads to the circuit breaker. In the case of use of the electronic ignition the positive terminal leads to the circuit breaker housing and from there two cables to the ignition coil lead upward. It dosen't matter wich plug belongs to wicht clamp here. A wire coil does not need preferential polarity and the ignition spark is always dealed to both spark plugs. The duck does not need a distributor and has accordingly no such construction unit.

The spark plugs.
