At the driver's side, the inner fender was rusted along the edge. Because of that, this area had to be renewed.

I formed the seams with the help of two welded square pipes, a 17mm wrench respectively a 14mm nut. Surprisingly, those tools were not distroyed and can still be used.
The red dots besides the metal plate are red color - I did not hammer my fingers...

The bodywork was connected with the chassis once more and the inner footwell plate was cloned.
It took me two hours of work to make the two halfes fit.

It took one more hour to weld it.
The four holes are necessary to inject cavity grease.

At the evening I had a closer look at the back of my car, because the modifications of this part will be done next time...

The "poor man's folding machine" is used to form a double chevron.

The curve is done by hand. I used both hands, of course, but I used one grabber to handle the camera at this picture. The bar clamps are used as levers, to work with more effort.

Today I did a lot of patchwork. Here you can see the bottom edge of the rear window at the dirver's side. "La Le Lu" has obviously not been painted with anti-corrosive paint.

Time to show you one of my little helpers, I got from Ferdi's "Men-tools-reservoir". This electric metal shears is much better than the jigsaw I used before. It cuts faster, more quietly and the edges are excellent - you can't harm yourself.

The rear fenders are adjusted.

After adjusting, cleaning was the following step. Again I spent endless hours to remove the old underbody "protection" and all the dirt of the four fenders. In addition to that I had to remove the whole paint of one fender, because it had been recoated in a very bad way by a previous owner.
At the car body I found the date of birth (the Orga number). Number 2 hatched at sunday the 21st of April in 1985. "Sunday driver" is no defamation when sitting at the steering wheel of this car...

Buying used fenders of good condition would have saved many hours of work, but the journey is part of the reward.
